On-Call Environmental Design and Water Resources Engineering Consulting Services

VAI currently maintains an on-call services contract with Clean Water Services for Environmental Design and Water Resources Engineering. Under this On-Call contract, VAI assisted with a stream enhancement design project on Rock Creek where the introduction of large woody debris was strategically located to abate stream bank erosion and improve the stream channel structure. VAI also assisted with a 2,200-foot-long creek stabilization and enhancement project on Willow Creek that accompanied a new sanitary sewer alignment. VAI was responsible for the design of the new stream channel, wetland mitigation, stream geomorphology data collection, and environmental permitting needed to address the eroding and flooding reaches of Willow Creek. Goals for this design included minimizing stream, wetland, and riparian impacts and to provide long-term protection for adjacent properties. VAI assisted CWS with obtaining the required land use approval and Joint Removal-Fill permits from the Department of State Lands and the US Army Corps of Engineers. The permit applications we prepared for these projects clearly explained how the design met the regulatory requirements. The applications were processed with minimal comments received and permits were issued on time.
